As for what has happened in the games industry recently: EA has been in talks for a record $50 billion buyout led by investors including Saudi Arabia’s PIF, which sent its stock price up 15% last week, amid controversy over PIF’s ties to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
In other news, UK studio Splash Damage has been acquired by private-equity investors, ending its ownership under Tencent, and will continue operating under its current leadership team.
Lastly, Konami reported that Silent Hill F outsold the Silent Hill 2 remake at launch, surpassing 1 million copies sold worldwide within a day of its September 25 release.

Coffee Stain Studios is a Swedish game developer founded in 2010 by students from the University of Skövde and is best known for creating the viral hit Goat Simulator as well as the factory-building game Satisfactory. Based in Skövde, the company has since expanded to include Coffee Stain Publishing and other affiliated studios like Coffee Stain North and Lavapotion. In 2018, it was acquired by Embracer Group through THQ Nordic but continues to operate with creative independence, focusing on quirky, innovative titles that often gain strong community followings.

ARC Raiders is a free-to-play cooperative third-person extraction shooter developed by Embark Studios.
