Hello, and welcome to 117th edition of Byte Action newsletter!
First off, my apologies for failing to post this on regular basis. I’ve had some health issues which fortunately I’ve managed to resolve, so from here on starting from January 9th I’ll be sending this out regularly every Tuesday at 1 pm CET. In the next addition I will also bring few additional features to the newsletter so watch out for those :) Also - if there’s anything else you wish to see in this newsletter - email me about and I’ll make sure to take it into account. Next week I’m heading out on a long awaited winter break🎄 :) So I hope you all have wonderful holidays, and I look forward to catching up with you next year.
As for what had happened in the games industry in the past few weeks:
It's safe to assume that the GTA VI trailer has been widely viewed by now. Rockstar Games has officially revealed their commitment to developing the GTA VI, and the trailer has certainly left a strong impression. Anticipation is high among those reading this, including myself, as we all await the opportunity to play the game. PC Gamer went a step further here, delving into the trailer to uncover and compile a list of all the concealed details and Easter eggs.
In other news, Larian’s Baldur’s Gate has won the ‘Game of the Year’ award at this year’s Game Awards. In total, Baldur's Gate 3 received six awards, including best performance for actor Neil Newbon, who played fan favourite Astarion.
Lastly, This Monday, a jury unanimously ruled in favor of Epic Games against Google in an antitrust case, potentially reshaping the operational dynamics of app marketplaces such as Google Play. The unanimous verdict marks the conclusion of a three-year legal dispute between the two companies.
