Hello, and welcome to 121st edition of Byte Action newsletter!
Last week new survival RPG Enshrouded launched, and has surpassed 1 million players. Congrats to Keen Games, and let’s hope the game continues to be successful.
In other news, more layoffs hit the games industry with recent announcements from Reikon Games and Eidos Montréal as well as Activision Blizzard laying off 1900 people. I wish we didn’t have to report this, but it seems like every week more and more people are losing jobs in the games industry…
Lastly, Pine Games a mobile game development studio based in Istanbul just secured a $2.25m investment. They’re planning on growing from a team of 4 to a team of 15.

Interview with Jerk Gustafsson - Machine Games
“First-person gameplay is part of MachineGames’ DNA, and we wanted to see how we could use this to create a really immersive experience around stepping into the shoes of the world’s most famous archaeologist. It also separates our game from many other action-adventure titles, making it a unique experience that you cannot find anywhere else. However, we still want to show Indy as much as possible, so we have a seamless flow between first-person gameplay and third-person actions, events, and cinematics.” Jerk Gustafsson
