Hello, and welcome to 120th edition of Byte Action newsletter!
Last week was a busy one within the games industry. Obelisk Games secured $2m in funding for the development of Obelisk studio’s first independent title, the survival horror game, Displacement. Talofa Games on the other hand raised $6.3m. The studio is looking to further develop and support its mobile title Run Legends.
In other news, more layoffs hit the games industry with recent announcements from CI Games, Thunderful Games and Behaviour Interactive whilst there’s also been rumours about Piranha Bytes studio layoffs though they asked ‘not to write them off yet’.
Lastly, founders of Rocksteady Studios Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker announced the opening of their new venture - Hundred Star Games in London.
