Hello, and welcome to the 104th edition of Byte Action newsletter.
Last week in a major announcement from Poland, Techland, one of the biggest developers, revealed that Tencent will become its majority shareholder. Techland will retain the full ownership of their IPs and maintain the creative freedom.
In other news, Blizzard had laid off 50 people from their esports division which was quite unexpected by the employees.
Lastly, I also recommend a very interesting interview with Baldur’s Gate 3 Lead Writer Adam Smith, about the game and it’s 17,000 different endings.

A lot of the numbers in our report, just to highlight a few–212.6 million Americans play games. That’s 65% of our population. It spans every age category. Just as many people 45 and over play as under 18.” Stanley Pierre-Lous
